Film is not dead… but then again we don't see film everywhere. Why? Film is like a treasure thats been buried when digital photography became popular. In our society today almost everything is digital, but I think of the phrase, "If it aint broke, don't fix it". I personally can remember being little and grinning into an old polaroid camera as my mom would snap a picture, and then watch in amazement as the photo developed and rolled out into my hands. I did some research and found out that in 2009, Polaroid announced it would stop producing film. Luckily, a group of people that really liked Polaroid started campaigning to save the style. They raised money and began hiring previous Polaroid engineers. They also bought the company’s equipment and worked to reverse-engineer Polaroids chemical formulas and production techniques. Then, the Impossible Project was born. The Impossible Project sells instant film and refurbished cameras. Now, we see other companies like Fuji instax that sell instant film and cameras. Without the drive of people around the world that fell in love with film, we could of lost a great art.
